RIOS v7.0.0 (RE2000, RE4000, RE2200, RE4200, RE5200, RX10, RS10, RS30, RS40, RG)
info
This version of RIOS requires rWeb 7.0.0.release at a minimum. For easier management of the new features in this release, it is suggested that you upgrade to rWeb 7.0.1.release.
New Features
- DNS request and response rate limiting can now be set under AT19, along with several other enhancements to the algorithm.
- Source and destination port blocking can be configured for TCP and UDP traffic under AT9 and AT22, respectively. Additionally, controls to only allow traffic over certain defined ports are available.
- Users can now fully specify which protocols are allowed under AT62.
Enhancements
- Fragmented packet tests for UDP and ICMP (AT18, AT24) will now also be checked against declared victims of that protocol type as opposed to just total traffic in the zone. Additionally, setting the filter method of any fragmented packet AT (AT4, AT18, AT24) to "off" will now immediately forward fragmented packets through.
- Overall UDP filtering has been enhanced, in addition to the specific new features listed above.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a reporting issue where AT8 mode would show as 'auto' in filter list even if the zone was in monitor.
- All RG-specific bug fixes from release 6.2.2 are now incorporated in this release.
rWeb 7.0.1.release
New Features
- Support for the new controls available in RIOS 7.0.0. These new features can still be used in rWeb 7.0.0.release, but require manipulation of advanced controls, so it is recommended to upgrade to rWeb 7.0.1.release if you intend to use RIOS 7.0.0.
Enhancements
- Added direct instructions for adding global blacklist and greylist entries to AT63.
- Added direct instructions for adding global source whitelist entries under Source Whitelist.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed issue where deleting filter list entries from the disk usage page would hang forever and prevent other backend processes like AS/CC import.
- Fixed the reset_pw command available over the rWeb serial connection.
7.0.0 System Release Notes (rWeb 7.0.0.release)
rWeb 7.0.0.release
New Features
- High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) can now be setup by clustering rWebs.
- Victim reports can now be generated for individual victims.
Enhancements
- rWeb's OS and database now upgraded to newer releases, with accompanying stability, feature, and speed increases.
- Report formats, scheduling, and generation have all been updated and made more flexible.
- Email subject lines will now be prefixed with the configured custom product name.
- Improved performance of pushing zone configuration information to devices.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed issue where authentication was returning extraneous user information.
- Fixed issue where the RS30 display was missing the back panel.
- Fixed issue where packet samples could fail to download for some victims.
- Fixed issue where the refresh button for the victim search section of the Victim Tab would hide/unhide the section rather than refresh data.
- Fixed issue where the "add device" display would not go away after adding a single device to a zone.
- Fixed issue where a configuration backup was including some non-configuration based data.
- Fixed issue where the device traffic by zone section was not refreshing to include zones created by other users or API.
- Sped up responsiveness of the zone usage section where the device has large (>500) numbers of zones.
- Fixed issue where victim email notifications would fail when the zone name contained certain unicode characters.
Known Issues
- There is a problem following the upgrade to 7.0.0 where a delayed job queue will not work as expected. This affects AS/CC and whitelist/blacklist uploads. As a workaround, following an upgrade to rWeb 7.0.0 we recommend triggering a manual reboot.
