Director Prometheus Metrics

Director provides Prometheus metrics for a number of components. When enabled, you can see all available components that serve metrics by navigating to https://Your.Director.Address:8000/metrics

Components​

Each component producing metrics will be available at a sub-url. These components are:

  • /metrics/node - These are the metrics produced by Prometheus Node Exporter, which provide a wide array of host hardware and kernel metrics.
  • /metrics/director - These are the metrics produced by Director itself, largely focused on providing data about ongoing actions and workflows.
  • /metrics/fastnetmon - These are the metrics produced by FastNetMon, used internally by Director for processing flow samples.

Configuration​

Use the Director CLI to view or change whether serving metrics are enabled. To view current status, use show system metrics:

If you want to enable or disable serving metrics, use set system metrics on or set system metrics off, respectively. Note this simply changes whether the metrics are served over port 8000 on the Director instance, and that components will still gather information either way.
