Director WebUI
Several configuration and lifecycle operations can be managed from Director's WebUI page (served over https from its configured IP address). When first navigating to the address, you will need to log in using the default user admin and password admin123. The default landing page will show you the current operating version of Director. The navigation bar at the top provides links for each of the sections below.
Networking
This page allows you to configure Director's networking, and a few additional systems like Syslog, NTP, and DNS. Each item shows its current configuration, and you can edit entries and submit changes using the Submit button at the bottom of the screen. Detected errors will highlight their appropriate field in red with an error explanation.
IP: The IPv4 address of the system.Netmask: The network mask of the system. This expects the value in dotted quad notation.Gateway: The default network gateway of the system.Hostname: The static hostname being used.DNS Servers: A comma separated list of DNS server addresses (IPv4) that will be used for DNS queries.DNS Search: The DNS search domain that will be used for queries.NTP Servers: A comma seprated list of NTP servers that will be used for time synchronization. Entries can either be IPv4 or a hostname (provided DNS is configured).Syslog Servers: A comma separated list of Syslog servers (IPv4 or hostname) that Syslog messages will be sent to. Syslog messages are sent over UDP port 514).
If you change the hostname of the system, you should reboot the system to ensure all services are launched correctly. You should also ensure that the selected hostname will match your currently set IP within your DNS search domain. If it points to a different system in your network, you may experience problems.
Password
This page allows you to change the password of the WebUI admin user. Enter the desired new password in both the Password and Confirm Password and then hit Submit to change the password.
This password change currently only affects the Webui admin user. It does not change the password of the admin user for SSH or serial console access. That password should be changed using the passwd command while logged in.
System
This page shows you the current version of Director, and allows you to upgrade, reboot, or shut down the system. The Reboot and Shutdown buttons perform their respective actions. For upgrades, you will first need to download a new version of Director. New versions will be available as .bin files in the downloads section of login.riorey.com. Click Browse... to open a file selection dialog, then navigate to and select the downloaded .bin file. Click the Upload button to send the upgrade file to Director. This will show a progress bar, and after unpacking and confirming the new version of the upgrade the screen will update.
After the upload is completed and confirmed, it will show both the Current Version and Staged Version above the file picker bar, and an Upgrade button will now be visible. Clicking Upgrade will begin an upgrade to the Staged Version. While upgrading, a maintenance page will be displayed, and it will refresh itself automatically until the upgrade is complete. Once the upgrade is finished, you should see the new version under Current Version, and the Staged Version and Upgrade button will no longer be visible.
Following an upgrade, it's strongly recommended you reboot the system to ensure all components have updated correctly.
