How RioRey uses Autonomous System (AS) Numbers and Country Codes (CC)

rWeb can display source IP addresses together with their associated AS and CC. rWeb will also allow block list and allow list based on AS and CC, giving users a quick way to block a region based on the IP's carrier or country of registry.

On a weekly basis, RioRey will be publishing under our Download section > AS/CC Downloads the current AS/CC information package. This package is generated based on feeds from Team Cymru Community Services, and our compiler automatically generates an updated file every Monday and makes it available for download into rWeb. Starting in 9.0, this can also be set to download automatically via Online Services configuration if your rWeb has external internet access.

Since this AS/CC data is from a third party source, RioRey does not guarantee the accuracy of the data. Also, note that we only update this file once a week and therefore the data might be stale. However, for DDoS filtering purposes, this data is accurate enough to meet most requirements.

The RioRey AS/CC files are marked with a .ascc file extension. This is in a rWeb readable format and can be directly loaded into rWeb. Click on Administration>AS and CC, then click "Upgrade Lookup Table" to open a file select dialogue. Select the AS/CC file you downloaded and hit "Ok".

For service providers that have their own AS/CC information, RioRey can provide utilities that translate your AS/CC data into rWeb format and automatically update the rWeb AS/CC files based on your own AS/CC data.
