rWeb Backup

You can select from two different types of backup: Full Backup and Configuration Backup. A Full Backup stores all configuration settings, license files, reports, and pcaps that are currently loaded on rWeb. A Configuration Backup stores only the current running configuration of rWeb and the license files.

Hit Start Backup to begin creating the backup. When a backup file is complete and available for you download, you will see the type, file size, and creation date in the top left. Hit Download Backup File to download the file to your local machine.

A Full Backup can take up to an hour to generate.

rWeb Restore

To restore from a backup, Upload Backup opens a dialogue box for you to the select the backup file. Hitting Ok will begin restoring rWeb to the settings and files contained in the selected backup file.

Restoring from a backup may take a long time, and is usually only recommended for emergency recovery conditions. If a backup fails while restoring, rWeb will revert to factory default. After reversion, you can attempt to load the backup again.

warning

After a restore, you will need to either manually upload your rWeb license again or pull and apply it. If a restore changes your SSL certificate, you may need to refresh your browser as otherwise the restore might appear to hang.

Clicking Upload brings up a file browser that will let you select a RIOS file. Click OK will start uploading this file to rWeb. rWeb will display status messages and once complete the uploaded version will be available as an entry on the table.

You can also select a RIOS version from the table and click Delete to remove it from rWeb.
